I work in traditional media (pencil, charcoal) and digital media (Photoshop), creating book covers and illustrations as well as pin ups.
I love comic book art and pen & ink work on classic titles like Savage Sword of Conan. I always hated how they made women warriors look like weak serving wenches. That’s why I draw my own female fantasy warriors and make them muscular, like the male heroes I grew up reading about.
The “Darklaw” Cover
Digital Painting, Adobe Photoshop CS4
This high-res digital painting required a lot of air brushing, smearing, stamping, cloning, sponging, dodging, and burning. All done with mouse. No kidding. I’m still not proficient with my graphics tablet, but use it now for inks.
When the book is released (from Drollerie Press), you’ll also have the map and portraits inside.
Old Art
These are 11″x18″ charcoal and pen & ink on textured paper. These are from back when I was a teenager, long before I discovered the joy of Photoshop.

PENCIL From Darklaw: Hold Fast the String
Original Pencil on Bristol Paper, 14inx11in, posterized in Photoshop. This is a one-panel memory sequence from Darklaw: Hold Fast the String. What our character Avestine did with that bottle will be the point of the memory. This will be inked and colored so the tone is completely unnecessary — I just enjoy creating these pinups every once-in-awhile too.

I have been with this name is since I was born in 1975. I had a friend google my name and your site came up. I am a person of character and I am just wondering if this is your pen name. I am a published poet and I find this site although interesting, highly strange and offensive. I like men although your artistic talent is awesome I am trying to find out why my name is attached to this type of reading material.
It’s nice to meet you, Teresa Wymore. My name is also Teresa Wymore. I’m not sure why you think this name belongs to you, but if you want to fight for it, I’ll throw down. I’ve had it since 1964, so maybe it’s mine. If you’re concerned people might think you are me, go ahead and tell them I’m not. I don’t think anyone has ever thought I was you, but I’ll tell them I’m not if they ask.
I guess that since the ’75 Theresa hasn’t made any further comment since the original post on 19th March she concurs that she isnt you… which is probably just as well since she is a ‘person of character’ who finds your work not just strange but ‘highly strange’ (I would love to hear her definition of what that means!) and offensive. (Perhaps she meant strange and highly offensive)…
… but no matter… I too consider myself to be a person of character and I find this site challenging, stimulating, erotic, creative, beautiful, powerful, amusing, ironic, and above all, empowering…
… I had a blast at CoyoteCon and valued your imput…. Thanks
Thanks so much, Widdershins! Coyote Con was a riot, and I appreciated all your input at the panels I attended. More Coyote next year!
